Is a ceramic coating safe for my paint or clear coat?

Yes, ceramic coatings are formulated to be safe for all surfaces including your paint.  It will not damage your clear coat or paint and will not void any manufacturer warranties.

Does a ceramic coating fade, crack, peel, or yellow?

No, ceramic coatings will not.  They have been tested in real life situations and in some harsh environments.  Our products are formulated to be safe for all surfaces including your paint.  It will not damage clear coat or paint and will not void any manufacturer warranties.

Are ceramic coatings safe on other vehicle surfaces?

Yes, the products we use are always tested first for durability.  They are able to protect any surface you choose including exterior and interior surfaces.

Are ceramic coatings an alternative to car wax?

Yes, once applied you will not need to wax again. Cleaning your vehicle’s paint is much easier maintenance.  No need for abrasive washes, waxes, or traditional sealants.  Yearly ceramic coating maintenance is highly recommended.

Will a ceramic coating protect my car from scratches?

Yes, after the coating cures it becomes 3 times harder than paint. The coating is much more resistant to scratching.  A ceramic coating is a glass coating, and while glass can still be scratched and chipped, it is much more resistant than your clear coat.

Can I apply a Ceramic Coating to my own vehicle?

Professional nano ceramic coatings are best applied by trained and certified professionals with experience in paint correction. It requires strong attention to detail and an understanding of how solvent based coatings work.

Who can apply a professional grade coating to my vehicle?

Ceramic Ninja is a certified installer.

Can a detailer, dealership, or service center that isn’t certified apply Ceramic Pro to my vehicle?

No, any detailer, dealership or service center that claims to apply Ceramic Pro without becoming a Certified Installer.

What is the application process and how long does it last?

The process can take between 1-5 days depending on the condition of your paint, the size of the vehicle, and packages you select. The 1st step is to wash and prep the vehicle. The 2nd step is to correct all the imperfections in the paint such as swirls and scratches. Once the vehicle is properly prepped, a body shop safe prep solvent will be applied to the entire vehicle to get to bare paint. At this stage the coating process will begin, and each panel of the vehicle will have the coating applied, leveled, and stacked to achieve the package you have selected.

Can a ceramic coating be applied over scratches and pre-existing damage?

No, our trained and certified professionals are experts in the art of surface correction.  Our professionals will restore your vehicle to the absolute best condition they can prior to the ceramic coating application.

Coating Durability Frequently Asked Questions

Can a ceramic coating protect vinyl or a wrap?

Yes, it will protect your vinyl from accidental spills, stains, oil/grime, and UV rays.  The ceramic coating is completely flexible and will not crack or peel from your vinyl.  As with all surfaces, a ceramic coating offers a self-cleaning effect allowing your vinyl to be easily cleaned.  Harsh vinyl cleaning agents would not be needed.

Can a ceramic coating be applied to my windows?

Yes, ceramic glass products are completely versatile and safe.  After application, the product provides glass to act as a superior hydrophobic water repellent.

Will a ceramic coating protect my vehicle from rock chips?

A ceramic coating is a silica based product, meaning it is a glass coating.  It adds some rock chip resistance, but it can still get rock chips from larger stones and high speeds.  The glass windshield on your vehicle will still get rock chips, just much less often than your clearcoat.

Does Ceramic Pro protect chrome or polished wheels?

Yes, Ceramic Pro does an excellent job protecting your chrome/polished finishes from corrosion, oxidation and discoloration.  Ceramic Pro’s self-cleaning effect also makes maintenance a breeze.  No need to continuously polish your chrome or polished finishes to keep its original luster.

Will a ceramic coating prevent water spots?

No, it will not prevent water spotting, but it will allow those water spots to be easily removed without damaging the surface.  Because the coating creates a protective layer over the substrate, it does not allow the minerals to corrode or etch the surface as easily that the coating is protecting, prolonging the life of your metals, paints, gelcoat, plastics, vinyls etc. It is a silica based glass product and the glass on your windshield can still get water spots, but it is much more resistant to water spots than your clear coat.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

Depending on the ceramic coating, it can last years with proper maintenance.  That’s longer than any wax or sealant on the market.

Can a ceramic coating be removed from my vehicle easily?

No, it cannot be washed away like a wax or sealant giving it long lasting results. You must use abrasion combination of wet sand / compound / polish to remove a ceramic coating.

Do I still need to wax my vehicle after the coating has been applied?

No, ceramic coatings are a replacement to wax and sealants.

What do I use to maintain my ceramic coating?

That’s the great thing about professional grade ceramic coatings.  Good bye to harsh chemicals, clay bars, etc.  A car wash or no rinse wash will work quickly to easily remove dirt and maintain your coating.  A yearly ceramic top coating maintenance is highly recommended.

Does the product require annual service?

Yes.  To maintain your warranty, you need to attend an annual service.  This is to ensure the ceramic coating performs properly for the entire length of the warranty.  For Ceramic Pro customers, if an annual inspection is missed, the warranty defaults to the lesser package at the time of the missed annual inspection. i.e. a Gold (Lifetime) warranty becomes a Silver (5 year) warranty when an annual service is missed.

How long until I can wash my vehicle after my vehicle has just been coated?

You should wait 10-14 days before the 1st wash to allow the solvents and the coating to fully cure.  If you notice that your car gets water spots, bird droppings, tree sap etc. during these two weeks immediately remove it following our care instructions.  Keep in mind the coating is softer so work on the paint very gently.
